What it was: A consulting firm I built from the ground up after years of fielding “quick questions” from clients at my day job. Questions that kept turning into paid side work. What started as informal problem-solving evolved into a full-blown operations and event management firm spanning multiple industries. Operations and Events may not be the same in every industry, but they definitely rhyme.
What I built: I formally launched VPE Consulting to take on larger-scale side projects, eventually landing a flagship contract with WD Matthews which required me to go full time. I embedded myself and my team as a fractional COO/Operations Director in our clients companies. Building or rebuilding systems, guiding leadership/management, and setting a new trajectory. Over time, I built VPE into a trusted strategic partner for public and private organizations large and small navigating operational bottlenecks, redesign efforts, and scalable growth.
Outcome: In 2024, I sold the company and transitioned into a consulting role within the very business I created continuing the work I love, without the overhead of running the whole show.
